Fit for Fun provides 20 weeks of FREE exercise classes for voluntary and community sector groups, or groups of families, friends, neighbours or work colleagues in Redbridge.
The emphasis is on having fun with others, whilst taking part in regular physical activities.
Some of the activities which groups are currently undertaking: Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, chair-based exercise, line dancing, aerobics, Bhangra dance, hooping, legs tums & bums, street dance, golf and many more.
We know from experience that the project has real results in participants' general health and well-being, and participants want to keep on improving their health as they begin to feel better and fitter.
We can also advise you on ways to sustain the exercise class, after the 20 free sessions have finished, should the group wish to continue.
Most participants self-fund beyond the 20 weeks, but have also supported others to make successful applications for grants from several funding sources to continue with the exercise.
Participants said their mental health improved. They felt much happier and less stressed. They also said they felt stronger and had less pain.”
Animal flow has made the children enjoy physical activity and exercise as it is done in a fun and engaging way”
