Our Health and Wellbeing Team works alongside local people and communities, taking a community development approach to create the conditions for good health and improve health equity.

As Interim Head of Health and Wellbeing, you will support and lead our Health and Wellbeing Team. You will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring that projects are delivered to a high standard and in line with our strategic priorities and organisational values.

You will maintain relationships with key partners including the council and the NHS, identifying collaborative opportunities and sharing learning and insights from our work to influence local policy and decision-making.

Working alongside the wider leadership team, you will also contribute to the organisation's long-term goals and development plans, identify and pursue new opportunities to enhance our impact and financial sustainability.

The role will be responsible for our Healthy Communities Programme, Connected Communities Programme, and Fit for Fun Project. We also have ambitions to grow our work with local young people, and plan to launch anew youth participation project from October 2024. The project is likely to sit within the Health and Wellbeing Team, and the Interim Head of Health and Wellbeing will be responsible for leading the initiation phase of the project.

Please note that due to the nature of the post, you will be expected to be mainly office-based in order to support the team during this interim period with opportunities for occasional home-working. Preferred working hours and days will be discussed at interview.
