Reach Out is the front door for Redbridge residents aged 16 or over who are experiencing domestic abuse. The service is survivor-centred, child-focused and perpetrator-aware.

We believe every survivor’s story and recognise that each individual is an expert in their own experiences. We adapt our service based on the needs of the individual, and support survivors to overcome any obstacles or barriers.

Intervention Specialists are responsible for assessing risk, putting safety plans in place and providing holistic support for a range of needs; this includes practical, hands-on support to secure safe accommodation, financial support, and signposting to immigration and legal services.

Where it is safe to do so, Intervention Specialists will also contact perpetrators of domestic abuse to better understand the risk and connect them with Spotlight, our behaviour change intervention, if appropriate.

Intervention Specialists also determine the impact of the abuse on the child/ children, and wider family functioning, and signpost children and young people to therapeutic and group work support that is available in the borough. The service is co-located with the Children & Families service, and Intervention Specialists carry out joint visits with the social work teams to ensure a domestic abuse-informed approach.

Candidates should be qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs). All frontline employees in the Reach Out service receive regular clinical supervision and can access a range of training.

To apply for this post please complete the online application form and attach your CV and a Covering Letter addressing how you meet the criteria for the role as stated in the person specification.

All short-listed applicants will need to demonstrate proof of right to work in the UK. At the London Borough of Redbridge, we receive a high volume of great-quality applicants, we therefore may close a vacancy earlier than advertised. Early applications are therefore encouraged.

We are committed to employment practices that promote diversity and inclusion in employment and welcome applications from qualified applicants regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, colour, race, religion, or belief.
